Wanted to share a picture of Idgie. We are doing great! She has had her 2nd round of vaccines and she did just fine! We are sure having fun. Thank you for all you do!
Finn is six months old now and 42lbs of energy! He can even keep up with me on my walks. He always likes to have two things in his mouth!
Rizzo is very cuddly and loves playing in the grass in our back yard. She seems to like our youngest son the most, and she follows him around. If he is sitting somewhere she cries to be up in his lap. She is so smart and we are growing very attached!
Marti (now Honey)
Honey is doing amazing and fitting right in with us. We are all so glad to have found her. She is such a smart puppy. Thanks for allowing us to bring her into our family.
Lily (now Demi)
Demi is now 4 1/2 months old and weighs 23 lbs! She is doing very well - she loves to play and is very friendly. She has one more obedience class and then she graduates! She has lots of energy and has learned to walk on the leash. She likes walks in the park where she can now keep up the pace and outwalk us! She is the sweetest little girl!
Benton is doing great! He is wild, but we love him!
This month marks 2 years since I adopted Sophie from you all. Sending a huge thank you to everyone at Happy Tales and My Second Home for keeping her safe until I came along!
Pecan Sandy (now Peyton)
I adopted Peyton a few months ago and she's absolutely perfect! We just completed puppy training from PetSmart. We're having a blast!
Starlah (now Porscha)
We happened to catch this cute photo of Porscha checking on our route to the gulf. She really seemed to love the beach - cautious at first but after a gentle wave caught her by surprise, we couldn't keep her away.
Finn loves to go for rides. I'm so happy riding doesn't make him sick - want to take him everywhere I go. He is acclimating to every situation I put him in. He is such a fantstic pup!
Janet has been a great fit at our house. We have another cat (10 years) and a dog (10 years). I have never experienced such a seamless transition while introducing a new pet. Janet chose us last Saturday and we are thrilled that she did!
Iman (now Mocha)
Mocha has trained us to be at her beck and call. She is definitely the Queen of the house! Even our cat likes her!
Rey is doing so well. She adjusted really quickly and is loving all the attention she is getting. We're slowly introducing her and the dog but its going well so far. We had such a great experience adopting from you guys. Thank you for taking such good care of little Rey!
She is adjusting well, getting used to car rides, and she almost has her potty training down. She is loved by everyone!
We are so happy he is a part of our family!
We have renamed him Jake and he is a great dog. Potty training has been a little challenging but we will get through it!
Rosie is doing great! She has completely stolen our hearts Her personality is coming out more and more every day, and she is just too funny. We could not have asked for a better or more loving dog.
Piper is doing great! She is happy and playful and she really enjoys the company of our other dog, Cam. They play and wrestle and run around the house constantly. Just thought you would like to know how much we love Piper and we're so glad she is a part of the familly.
Tucker and Sasha
Today is Tucker's and Sasha's 6-month birthday. They have become such an important part of our family since we adopted them in June. They love to relax in ol' Dad's recliner. We just wanted to thank Happy Tales once again for bringing us together with our pups
Tini is just doing great! We've had a real breakthrough with housebreaking in the last couple of days, despite us having company and her routine being out of whack. She's very smart and eager to please, so we give her lots of praise and kisses and treats. She's been sweet to everyone who walks in our doors (even children) and she is best pals with her doggy brother!
Zoey (formerly Trixie)
Here is Zoey wearing her Eagles bandana! She is a sweet and affectionate dog. My family is spoiling her rotten! Thank you for everything!
Update from Daisy (formerly Lyndsey)
Dear Happy Tales Friends,
I wanted to send you this picture and let you know that my new home is working out well and I am very happy here! The other cat that lives in the house here was very shy at first but we are becoming friends and we play together. The big mean gray cat that lives in the garage comes in sometimes & I think he is afraid of me because I stand up to him!! My new mommy thinks that is hilarious! The dog, Lindsay, is very nice to me because she is used to kitties. Thank you for taking care of me for the first 8 months of my life and I wanted you to know that everyone says that I am spoiled here but I don't agree with them! Have a happy summer! Love, Daisy (formerly Lyndsey)
Hello! I just wanted to give you all an update on Cocoa (the 3 ½ year old chocolate lab mix my husband, Adam, and I adopted in May of last year). When we adopted Cocoa, there was some definite growing pains. She was labeled an “escape artist at Happy Tales, and wow, was that so true. She escaped several times, was aggressive towards other dogs and had several accidents (one on the couch!) in the first few weeks of living with us. It didn’t take long for those growing pains to go away though.
She is truly a wild woman; she hates squirrels, cats, rabbits, and small dogs, but I have never loved something so much. Cocoa loves to snuggle, go on walks, give sweet kisses and take car rides. She loves wearing outfits too. Her favorite outfit is her Halloween costume, which she really likes to wear during thunderstorms.  She has gained 9 pounds, now weighing about 51 pounds. She is so happy and very spoiled. We are so lucky she is a part of our lives. We couldn’t ask for a better dog.
We just wanted to say thank you! Thank you for all you do for these animals and for introducing us to Cocoa. We absolutely love her! Thank you!
Many Thanks, Bridget
'Texas' is doing great!
Thought you might like to know The-Dog-Formerly-Known-as-Texas is doing great! We have renamed her Ginger, and she is getting along well with our 9-month-old Lab, Clover, and our daughter. She and Clover spend a lot of time playing outside, and she behaves herself inside too. She's very mellow. At night she sleeps on a fluffy dog bed in our room, and she and Clover usually wake up ready to go outside around 6am. She takes every opportunity to sunbathe on our deck or sit quietyly next to the fence just looking around. Such a nice dog, and we feel lucky to have her. Even though we just got her last week, it seems like we've had her forever. - Laura
I adopted Gracie as a kitten back in July 2007. We have since moved back to my home state of Florida and she's loving it. She's such an amazing kitty and we have a very special bond. I truly adore her. I think of Happy Tales from time to time and just wanted to let you all know she's doing well!
FrankWe are the proud adoptive parents of Frack (renamed Frank). Â He has been such a blessing to our family and is such a great dog. Â He loves going for trail walks and he is my favorite nap buddy. Â He is the perfect dog for us!
Griffey is settling in wonderfully. He is the belle of our neighborhood. We take four walks per day he is up to almost three miles in total, each day. He is in great health and went to see the Vet the day after he came home. We're having a ball. He comes to work with me some days and my daughter takes him to work with her some days as well. Also, I thought I would forever hold strong, but I didn't and he sleeps in the bed with me. So life is great with Griffey. Thank you, again for everything you do!Â
I recently adopted the little kitten named TC and I have renamed him Gus. I was so worried about him getting along with my dog Jayden. The introduction was tough and Jayden was terrified of him for the first few days. Now they are just getting along wonderfully. I am so happy to give this little guy a home and to make our little family complete.  - Kelly
I wanted to update you on our adoption of little 'Ace.' He's the cute, fluffy-tailed kitten that had just arrived at Happy Tales two days before I came in. He's doing wonderfully and were having a lot of fun with him. his name is now Spenser (after our favorite literary detective). He's getting along with our older cat too, keeping him on his toes. Thanks for all your help and we appreciate Happy Tales so much. You all do a great job!  - S. Bennett
Neil Patrick has been renamed Boo-Boo and he is a great addition to the family. He thinks he is just one of the kids. He plays with them all the time! R. Mckernan
We are doing well with our new fur ball! We enjoyed our experience at Happy Tales and have told friends about you. We will keep in touch!  Linda T.
We are all getting to know one another and rapidly becoming best buddies. His name is now NASH, short for Nashville! We are working on potty training and many many walks later it is coming along. Once we get the potty training down all will be perfect, as Nash is the most affectionate dog we have ever had. A.& L. Brown
This is Jake adopted from Happy Tales in June 2008 at 18 months old. He is now approaching 7 years old and he is a very spoiled and much loved member of our family. We can't imagine our lives without him. Our precious boy.....      T. Morse
This month is the tenth anniversary of my adoption of Dodger. He was in the Williamson County Shelter and then Happy Tales rescued him. It's been a wonderful decade! Thanks Happy Tales! S. Weinberg
We have renamed Janet to 'Casey' and she has already met with her vet last week.  She is doing vey well with potty and crate training and this week we started with 'sit' and 'stay' and she is picking it up quickly.  She is the best addition to our family and the highlight of our day!
Life is great with Tanner. He is getting more comfortable each day and he sleeps at the end of my son's bed. We haven't had one problem with him chewing anything and he never barks at anything. He's such a gentle, sweet puppy. We're very happy!    B. Gentry and family
Rosalie has settled in quickly and is a little joy. My dogs love her and she them. She is a great addition to the family. We have already been to the vet for a checkup and her rabies shot. She is happy and quite content. Thank you guys for all you do at Happy Tales! K. Miller
Five years ago you had a beautiful English Setter named Apache Charlie. Charlie was about one year old when we adopted him. He had a very bad acid stomach and was prone to diarrhea attacks. I think he was brought back to you 3 times. When we brought him home, he had separation anxiety for several weeks. Finally we came home one day and he was wagging his tail and smiling, so glad to see us. We weaned him off the pepcid pills and in 1 1/2 yrs he was medicine free! So if you have others with this problem, please tell them the acid will go away with happiness. We renamed him Disney, and he is definitely in the same forever home and he just turned 6 years old! We love him to pieces and he loves us! He is a beautiful dog and has the biggest heart you have ever seen. He loves children and he is gentle with elderly people. He loves to ride in my old truck and loves to swim in the neighborhood lake. He sleeps with us when it thunders, and we are so blessed you took good care of him until we were blessed with him! J. and J. Oliver
Lola is the best kitty, super sweet and she's been great for our twins -  tolerant and playful. I am a cat person for sure, and have been careful about getting her good breaks from the young children, and that she is cuddled by me often. Please know you found her a good home!
It was the first week of 2011, and Miss Dolly was sitting at animal control, watching everyone pass her by for the cute kittens. Until Happy Tales Humane. They spotted her, and knew at a glance she was special. They took her to their shelter to find her forever home, and once the staff at Happy Tales met her, and she showed off her loving and endearing personality, they knew which family would be perfect; but would it work out? Their previous kitty, Liza Jane, had been extremely bonded to them, and they missed her dearly. Well, it would be up to Miss Dolly to see if she chose this family. They met Miss Dolly, and from their report, it was a match made in heaven. Two days after they met her, Happy Tales emailed, asking how she was doing. Here's their reply: "Liza used to come to the bedroom door and wait until I said 'get your butt in the bed', at which time she would come over and get in bed. During the night I would feel her tromping over to the night stand to drink out of my water cup. She would come back to her spot and go back to sleep." "When Dolly came to the bedroom door, she waited until I said 'get your butt in bed', at which time she came over, got in bed, found her a spot at the foot of the bed and went to sleep. During the night I felt her tromping over to the night stand and heard her slurping out of my water cup until she was satisfied. Then returned to her spot and went back to sleep. Liza Jane reincarnated, or at least is passing on her knowledge of the way this works to Dolly." They gave Miss Dolly a chance, and Miss Dolly made it clear she was there to stay - now that's a perfect match!
