If you are interested in volunteering, please come by the shelter during the shelter hours of 11-4pm, Tuesday - Friday. You will be required to complete the Volunteer Application. If you are under 18, you must bring a parent with you. You can contact our Volunteer Coordinator at Volunteer@HappyTalesHumane.com for more information.

We are sorry but at this time, we can not accept volunteers under the age of 14 for "in house" volunteering. Please see our Pet Univeristy program opportunities for those ages 7-17. 
 

If you need to complete court ordered community service hours, please call 615-791-0827 ext 10 or email volunteer@happytaleshumane.com. You must be at least 18 and we are currently not taking drug related offenses. Community Service starts at 6:30am Wednesdays through Saturdays.

**New Volunteer Opportunities**

Adoption Counselor/Front Desk: We are looking for volunteers from Tuesday-Fridays from 12p-4pm to help assist potential adopters and inform people about adoption policies and procedures. Also these volunteers will help answer the front phone, greet visitors and answer general questions. If interested, you must be able to commit to at least one day a week on a regular basis. This opportunity has the potential to become a paid position.

Collecting Donation Boxes: Two volunteers are needed to collect  (and replace)donation boxes that are at various retail locations in both Williamson and Davidson county. This only needs to be done on a monthly basis.

Intake Coordinator: A volunteer is needed to schedule appointments for individuals to surrender their cat or dog into Happy Tales and handle pre-payment of the appointment as well. This position is only needed once a week for a couple hours.

Donation Administration: Volunteers are needed to enter donation/donor information into our database and send out acknowledgments and thank you letters as needed. Volunteers are needed twice a week for a couple hours each day.

Book Sales: Very soon, we will be selling the photography book Hottest Hounds of Nashville and need people who are interested in sales to call around to different retail outlets and medical offices to see if they might be interested in selling the book at their location. This has the potential to be a big fundraiser for Happy Tales.
